The Singapore stock market finished choppy session marginally lower on Tuesday, 26 September 2023, weighed down by rate-sensitive stocks amid concerns about policy tightening abroad and higher borrowing costs.
At closing bell, the Straits Times Index (STI) index was down marginal 0.33 point, or 0.01%, to 3,215.07 after trading between 3,204.91 and 3,224.53. Volume of 1.11 billion shares worth S$815.84 miillion changed hands. There were 247 gainers and 287 decliners.
All three local lenders were mixed. UOB fell 0.18% to S$28.40, while OCBC Bank added 0.3% to S$12.76 and DBS rose 0.2% to S$33.51.
