Gold registers 14% growth this month
25-Aug-26   16:38 Hrs IST

COMEX Gold futures have paused near a three-month high as the US dollar gained slightly. Gold has performed well recently due to increased safe-haven demand amid currency and bond market volatility, with rising oil prices raising inflation concerns. Its rally increased after the US Treasury announced a plan to double long-term debt buybacks. The US dollar index fell below 99, reaching its lowest in three months, which helped dollar-denominated gold. Gold prices have risen about 14% this month. In India, gold demand is increasing after a price drop, with imports valued at Rs 39,893 crore in July 2026, a 16.60% rise from July 2025. Silver imports are falling, while gold imports in the first four months of FY27 surged 46.50% to Rs 143,880 crore. Currently, COMEX Gold futures are at $4,686 per ounce, down 0.23%, while MCX Gold futures are down 0.24% at Rs 162,833 per 10 grams after reaching Rs 163,800 per 10 grams.
