Gold futures decreased by approximately 1% to around $4,010 per ounce during Asian trading on Tuesday. This decline stemmed from a strengthening US dollar and rising oil prices, which collectively pressured precious metals ahead of significant central bank announcements. The dollar index remained above 102, while the recovery in oil prices heightened inflation concerns and created expectations for tighter monetary policy, adversely affecting non-yielding bullion investments. Silver was particularly impacted, dropping nearly 3% to approximately $52.80 per ounce, marking its lowest level since November 2025. Investors are currently anticipating the release of US third-quarter GDP and PCE inflation data, which could provide new insights into economic trends and the Federal Reserve's future policy stance. In the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), December gold futures fell by 0.6% to Rs.1,42,182 per 10 grams, and silver futures saw a decline of nearly 2%, trading at Rs.1,91,516 per kilogram.
