Gold futures advanced on Monday, climbing by more than $20 in Asian trading as diminishing oil prices alleviated inflation anxieties, as investors prepared for the Federal Reserve’s policy decision scheduled for October 27–28. The central bank is generally anticipated to maintain rates this week; however, sustained price pressures may retain the possibility of a December rate increase. US PCE inflation data slated for release on Thursday will provide additional insights into the policy trajectory, following indications of robust business demand and enterprises increasing prices in October. Intensified energy expenses associated with the Middle East conflict remain an inflation hazard, potentially curbing gold’s advance as higher interest rates depress the return on non-yielding bullion. MCX December gold futures increased 0.6% to Rs.1,42,132 per 10 grams, while international futures rose 0.5% to $4,030.20 per ounce.
