Gold futures remained above $4,500 an ounce during Thursday's electronic trading, following a jump of over $100 the day before. This increase was driven by a notable drop in US Treasury yields after the government announced plans to double long-dated bond buybacks from $2 billion to $4 billion per operation. As a result, the dollar index fell below 98.6, nearing a three-month low. MCX October gold futures stayed mostly unchanged at Rs.1,58,224 per 10 grams, while September silver futures rose 1% to Rs.2,38,950 per kg.
