Gold recovered above $4,200 per ounce on Friday as value investors emerged after the prior session’s drop of almost $100, with diminished strength in the US dollar providing supplementary impetus. The dollar index dipped below 101.6, broadening losses as the divestment in technology and artificial intelligence equities led investors to reevaluate the longevity of the AI-driven investment fervor and its wider economic ramifications. Nevertheless, the recovery in bullion remained susceptible to fluctuating Federal Reserve policy expectations, as robust US economic data maintained the possibility of additional interest rate increases in view. On the MCX, December gold futures advanced more than 1% to Rs.1,48,545 per 10 grams, recouping ground but staying beneath the critical Rs.1,50,000 level.
