The key equity barometers traded with minor gains in early trade. Nifty opened at 24581 and hit a high of 24621 in first half hour of trade. Nifty IT, Nifty Realty and Nifty Consumer Durables shares advanced, while Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty FMCG shares retreated. At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, up 80.37 points to 78,579.54. The Nifty 50 index posted modest gains of 23.20 points or 0.09% to 24,593.85. The broader market failed to keep pace with frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index edged higher by 0.16% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index moved higher by 0.36%. The market breadth was healthy. On the BSE, 2751 shares gained and 1910 shares declined. A total of 268 shares were unchanged. Nifty IT index rallied 1.05% to 31879. The index has soared 12.92% in last one month and edged lower by 9.15% over last one year. LTM, edging up 2.47%, led the gainers followed by Coforge, gaining 2.17% and Infosys, up 1.36%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 8 are reporting gains today. Nifty Realty index moved higher by 0.77% to 893. The index has edged lower 0.75% in last one month and posted modest losses of 0.79% over last one year. Brigade Enterpr., inching higher 2.87%, led the gainers followed by Godrej Propert., adding 1.60% and Lodha Developers, inching higher 1.49%, respectively. All 10 constituents are advancing today. Nifty PSU Bank index inched down 0.52%. The index has risen 5.88% in last one month and spiked 27.16% over last one year. Bank of India, down 1.48%, led the losers followed by Indian Bank, easing 0.98% and I O B, slipping 0.70%, respectively. Out of 12 index constituents, 10 are reporting loss today. In NIFTY500, Hitachi Energy is the top gainer today, soaring 9.58% to Rs 35700. The counter has jumped 57.41% in last one year. It recorded an average volume quantity of 6190.83 in last five sessions compared to 7798.50 over last one month. Asian markets surged on Monday. China’s Shanghai composite is marginally higher by 0.01%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is slightly higher by 0.41%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is sharply higher by 2.04%.
