The key equity barometers traded with limited losses in early trade. Nifty opened at 24539 and hit a high of 24620 in first half hour of trade. Nifty IT, Nifty Auto and Nifty Realty shares gained, while Nifty Financial Services and Nifty PSU Bank shares declined. At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, down 269.23 points to 78,685.53. The Nifty 50 index inched down 24.30 points or 0.10% to 24,611.70. The broader market outperformed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index posted modest losses of 0.10% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index moved lower by 0.02%. The market breadth was healthy. On the BSE, 2023 shares rose and 1692 shares fell. A total of 224 shares were unchanged. Nifty IT index rallied 1.45% to 31557. The index has recorded robust gains of 14.04% in last one month and moved lower by 9.64% over last one year. LTM, up 2.37%, led the gainers followed by TCS, edging up 2.36% and Tech Mahindra, inching higher 2.32%, respectively. All 10 constituents are advancing today. Nifty Auto index posted modest gains of 0.56% to 29277. The index has risen 6.43% in last one month and surged 22.59% over last one year. Samvardh. Mothe., adding 4.87%, led the gainers followed by Sona BLW Precis., gaining 0.83% and M & M, up 0.73%, respectively. Out of 15 index constituents, 11 are reporting gains today. Nifty Financial Services index posted modest losses of 0.72%. The index has eased by 0.48% in last one month and inched up 1.87% over last one year. Bajaj Finance, down 4.47%, led the losers followed by Bajaj Finserv, slipping 3.12% and Shriram Finance, losing 1.91%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 16 are reporting loss today. In NIFTY500, Siemens Ener.Ind is the top gainer today, surging 9.42% to Rs 3558.35. The counter is up 2.86% in last one year. It recorded an average volume quantity of 15554.67 in last five sessions compared to 22147.12 over last one month. Asian markets posted modest losses on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite is marginally higher by 0.49%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is modestly higher by 0.12%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading lower by 0.91%.
