The key equity barometers traded with limited losses in early trade. Nifty opened at 24539 and hit a high of 24630 in first half hour of trade. Nifty IT, Nifty Auto and Nifty Realty shares advanced, while Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Private Bank shares declined. At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, edged lower by 500.44 points or 0.63% to 78,454.32. The Nifty 50 index moved lower by 84.55 points or 0.34% to 24,551.45. The broader market outperformed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index lost 0.10% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index inched down 0.02%. The market breadth was negative. On the BSE, 2333 shares gained and 2359 shares retreated. A total of 245 shares were unchanged. Nifty IT index rallied 1.10% to 31447. The index has registered sharp gains of 14.04% in last one month and inched down 9.64% over last one year. TCS, inching higher 2.73%, led the gainers followed by Mphasis, gaining 1.86% and LTM, edging up 1.66%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 8 are reporting gains today. Nifty Auto index rose 1.01% to 29407. The index has climbed 6.43% in last one month and surged 22.59% over last one year. Samvardh. Mothe., climbing 9.09%, led the gainers followed by Exide Inds., up 2.85% and M & M, adding 1.61%, respectively. Out of 15 index constituents, 12 are reporting gains today. Nifty Financial Services index retreated 1.25%. The index has slipped by 0.48% in last one month and inched up 1.87% over last one year. Bajaj Finance, falling 5.57%, led the losers followed by Bajaj Finserv, slipping 4.24% and ICICI Bank, easing 2.72%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 16 are reporting loss today. In NIFTY500, Siemens Ener.Ind is the top gainer today, posting strong gains of 13.84% to Rs 3702.10. The counter is slightly up 2.86% in last one year. It recorded an average volume quantity of 15554.67 in last five sessions compared to 22147.12 over last one month. Asian markets rose on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite is higher by 0.92%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is marginally higher by 0.42%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is down 0.12%.
