The key equity barometers traded with minor gains in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 23972-23896. Nifty Financial Services, Nifty 50 and Nifty Realty shares advanced, while Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Healthcare Index shares retreated.
At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, inched up 573.22 points or 0.75% to 76,726.08. The Nifty 50 index moved higher by 87.15 points or 0.37% to 23,960.60.
The broader market lagged behind the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index edged higher by 0.32% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index added 0.55%.
The market breadth was well-supported. On the BSE, 2887 shares rose and 1648 shares fell. A total of 289 shares were unchanged.
Nifty Financial Services index inched up 0.65% to 26090. The index has inched lower by 3.93% in last one month and edged higher by 0.74% over last one year. BSE, edging up 4.27%, led the gainers followed by HDFC Life Insur., adding 2.74% and LIC Housing Fin., inching higher 2.37%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 18 are reporting gains today.
Nifty 50 index moved higher by 0.37% to 23961. The index has drifted lower by 3.64% in last one month and edged lower by 3.41% over last one year. HDFC Life Insur., up 2.74%, led the gainers followed by Trent, gaining 2.12% and Reliance Industries, up 1.99%, respectively. Out of 50 index constituents, 35 are reporting gains today.
Nifty Consumer Durables index moved lower by 0.64%. The index has posted modest losses of 2.39% in last one month and lost 0.39% over last one year. Havells India, down 3.04%, led the losers followed by Dixon Technolog., easing 1.92% and Kajaria Ceramics, slipping 1.52%, respectively. Out of 13 index constituents, 7 are reporting loss today.
Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 8 are in green today. Nifty Financial Services index has registered heavy losses of 3.93% in last one month and is modestly higher by 0.74% over last year. Nifty Consumer Durables index is sharply lower by 2.39% in last one month and is modestly lower by 0.39% over last one year.
From NIFTY50 index, Gland Pharma, IFCI AND Vodafone Idea are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 308691.23 lakh shares, 9939.52 lakh shares and 1419.42 lakh shares respectively.
Asian markets jumped on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite is ahead by 0.55%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is sharply higher by 1.83%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is significantly higher by 1.25%.
NIFTY50 Sep-26 futures are in discount of 132.30 points today.
